Through active participation in both local and international collaborations, fellows gain meaningful experience in legal aid work while contributing to the growth and strengthening of Malaysia’s legal landscape.

TRIPARTITE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

The Yayasan Tan Sri Professor Ahmad Ibrahim’s Tripartite Internship Programme 2024/2025 is a unique internship programme which allows law students to experience internships in three pillars of government.

This internship strives to expose students to the various opportunities and experience that a law degree could bring. This dining also serves as a platform for students to expand their horizons and gain valuable insights into the legal field, which is beyond just being a lawyer.

The objectives of the programme include equipping law students with practical skills through hands-on experience, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in real-world legal settings, and facilitating meaningful connections with mentors, legal professionals, and industry leaders. In doing so, the programme encourages students to develop a deeper understanding of the legal landscape and prepare for professional success.eight

The programme is structured into three stages over an eight-week period, starting from 28 July 2025 to 25 September 2025. Each stage spans approximately three weeks. The first stage places students in the Judiciary under the Chief Justice Research Division. The second stage introduces them to the Legislative pillar through placements at the Pejabat Yang di-Pertua Dewan Rakyat and Pejabat Yang di-Pertua Dewan Negara. Finally, the third stage immerses students in the Executive branch via the Office of the Attorney-General. This well-rounded format allows students to gain comprehensive exposure to the roles, responsibilities, and inner workings of each government branch, making it a transformative learning journey for aspiring legal professionals.
